Tony Wiggins is an Experienced Phoenix Wrongful Death Attorney
Attorney Tony Wiggins hails from the great city of Chicago, Illinois. Mr. Wiggins attended the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn where he received an Associate of Arts Degree with high honors before moving to the Tucson area in 1979. Upon arrival to Arizona he attended the University of Arizona where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1982. Mr. Wiggins began his graduate education program at the University of Arizona College of Law where he received his Juris Doctor degree in 1985.
After graduation he completed a short clerkship at an insurance defense firm and spent a short time with the Tucson City Prosecutor’s Office before he began working with the Mercaldo Law Firm. He was employed by the firm until 2006. During this time, Mr. Wiggins learned the basics and key points to being a successful trial attorney. With more than 20 years of experience under his belt, Mr. Wiggins embarked on a new journey, the Wiggins Law Offices, which first opened their doors in July 2006.
As an experienced attorney, Mr. Wiggins, is licensed to practice law in all courts within the state of Arizona. Additionally, he is also licensed to practice within the United States District Court for the District of Arizona and the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco. He is a member of the Board of Directors as well as a Sustaining Member of the Arizona Chapter of the Trial Lawyers Association. Mr. Wiggins is also a current member of the Trial Practice Section of the State Bar Association, Association of Trial Lawyers of America, both the Litigation and Tort and Insurance Practice Sections of the American Bar Association, and the Pima County division of the Bar Association. Mr. Wiggins values each of his distinguished memberships as a way to gain further knowledge within the area of law. Additionally, he received the highest rating granted by the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory for excellence in law, the AV Preeminent rating. Only the most qualified received this rating as it serves as distinction as one of the top practicing in the profession.
Mr. Wiggins is a frequent public speaker and has been the keynote at a variety of seminars geared toward continuing education for other attorneys. At the 1990 State Bar of Arizona Convention, where he was a panel member for the program on Governmental Liability for Domestic Violence and Child Abuse, he presented a seminar geared toward recovering damages in civil actions. More recently, he has continued his annual address at the Pima Community College for a group of paralegal students and served as an expert witness for a trial in 2010.
Tony Wiggins has a primary focus to serve the needs of people who have suffered the effects of medial malpractice. In addition to this area of expertise he continues to handle cases that involve people that have been injured as a result of trucking or motor vehicle accidents, dram shop or liquor seller liability, road design and maintenance, dog or other animal attacks, premises liability and appeals, and dental malpractice. Recently he served as counsel on a compensation trial netting more than $3 million dollars for injuries as a result of a trucking accident. Mr. Wiggins also has experience working with counsel across state lines to recover damages for his clients, including Massachusetts, California, Washington, Texas, and Montana.
